Board

The Board is the highest decision-making body of the LGBT Centre made up of members serving on a voluntary basis to provide the organisation with policy direction and advice. As of October 2017, the Board is made up of eight outstanding individuals with great expertise in their respective areas who are dedicating their time, knowledge and skills to improve the lives of LGBTI people in Mongolia and around the world. The Board membership is open to anyone committed to the protection and realisation of all rights of LGBTI people in Mongolia.

Anaraa Nyamdorj

Co-founder, Advisor to the Board

Anaraa Nyamdorj was the co-founder and first Chair of the organisation from 2007 to 2010. He served successfully as the Executive Director between 2014 and 2016 to launch the organisation into a new era of work overall, and especially around culture and media.

Aubrey Menarndt

Board member

Aubrey joined the Board in September 2017. She brings years of experience in project development and much passion for social justice.

Batchimeg Sambalkhundev

Board member

Batchimeg (Cicimaa) joined the Board in 2015 and offers her deep interest and experience in anthropological inquiry.

Munkhtuya Dashtsend

Executive Director, Board member

Having joined the Centre as Health Programme Manager in early 2014, Munkhtuya was appointed the Executive Director effective January 2017.

Bolorbat Khaadag

Board member

Bolorbat joined the Board at the end of 2016 to help the organisation around youth engagement.

Oyungerel Tsedevdamba

Board member

Since its founding, the Centre was denied an official registration as a non-governmental, LGBT human rights organisation. Oyungerel, a prominent politician, was instrumental in helping the organisation to register in her then-capacity of Human Rights Advisor to the President of Mongolia. She was invited to serve on the Board in 2017 and joined in April 2017.

Zorig Alimaa

Chair of the Board

Zorig joined the Board in 2014 and brings his decades-long experience with major transnational banking institutions.

Enkhmaa Enkhbold

Board member

Enkhmaa joined the Board in February 2017 and brings a much-needed Mongolian queer diaspora voice. She is working with the executive team to improve volunteer engagement and mobilisation.

Executive team

The executive team is made up of full-time Executive Director, Legal Programme Manager, Health Programme Manager, Youth Programme Manager and a part-time Finance Officer. There is any number of domestic and foreign volunteers dedicating their time to the Centre at any given time.
